History of Goldsmiths

Founded in 1778 and still in operation today in the same place in Newcastle. That's more than 230 years of unbroken sales of the finest jewellery and watches. They were the first shop in the UK to stock Rolex watches when it first arrived and they made the Rugby League Trophy.

Now Goldsmiths are the largest jewellers in the entire country with a major showroom in almost every city on the mainland and five in Northern Ireland.

Opening Times

Opening times vary for some stores, so make sure you check your local listing or make use of Goldsmith's online Store Locator tool for detailed information about your local showrooms. For reference, using a large city store as an example, the opening times are as follows: Monday - Friday: 9:00 - 20:00 Saturday: 9:00 - 18:00 Sunday: 11:00 - 17:00

Delivery Information

Goldsmiths use a courier service to ensure the security of your order. They require a signature for all products of £100 and over. They will not leave it at any other address, only the one you specified in the order.

Standard delivery: Free -This applies to all orders, regardless of cost. It normally takes between 1 - 3 working days, but this may be slightly extended for some more remote locations.

Express delivery: £5 - Orders placed before 3pm with a requested express delivery will arrive before 1pm the following day. However for some more remote locations this may be extended slightly.

Returns Policy

Refunds can be issued on returns made within 14 days of purchase and exchanges made on returns made within 30 days.

Orders can be easily returned or exchanged at any Goldsmith showroom. This excludes orders that were paid via PayPal or Interest Free Credit.

For mail returns an Exchange and Returns form is needed, it can be downloaded on the Goldsmith website. The completed form must be enclosed in the return package with your order in its original condition, including the original dispatch note and packaging. Goldsmiths recommend that you obtain a proof of postage for your protection when sending any parcels.

Goldsmiths promise to treat any personal information provided in full compliance with the UK Data Protection legislation. Furthermore they ensure the customer that they will never pass on your details to third parties. The reviews for Goldsmith, for both their customer service and products are overwhelmingly positive. The customer review site, feefo.com shows that they received 92% positive feedback on their service and 96% on their products. However another review site, TrustPilot.com tells a different story. There are poor customer reviews from some individuals and some were upset with certain products.

Despite this these reviews would appear to have been isolated incidents and it is helpful to remember that people who were happy with their service are often unlikely to post a review online. Therefore it can usually negatively weighted on such sites. For your peace of mind you can make your own enquiries within networks you trust, but Goldsmiths seems to maintain a good standing overall.
